Klein Tools 54436 8-Compartment Storage Box for Tools & Parts

I like the tight fitting lid to keep small parts dust free but the handle is very stiff probably due to the paint/epoxy coating. I’ve tried to loosen it by swinging it up and down about two hundred times and injecting it with grease but it remains the same as the day I bought it. (Stiff) When comparing the sidewall to my older boxes I find the thickness has dropped .002 - .003 and the new box has what appears to be a thicker coating of paint so it’s even a little thinner still. My old box has a raised tab area where you could insert a card with the contents of that drawer. The new (this) version has only a couple shallow embossed lines as some sort of guide. With the old version I could change cards if I changed the contents of the bins. With the new style I have to remake some sort of self adhesive label and peel off and replace with a new self adhesive label if I change the contents. I still like the unit for trouble free parts storage and the close fitting lid to keep parts from mixing together when moving around but I really wish company’s would stop testing the limits of profit over consumer acceptance. I’m already at the point where I’m looking for a suitable replacement which wasn’t even on the radar five years ago. I’d bet a thousand dollars their sales have dropped since they changed tooling to produce an inferior product and other company’s profits have risen. Greed is not good.putting all my small parts in to make my truck toolbox more organizedWorks as it shouldI wanted some portable compartment cases for keeping better track of my Tabletop RPG pieces (dice, minis, etc) and the best ones I could find before were flimsy plastic or had removable partitions (which always resulted in cross contamination and faster wear and tear). These are much hardier and fit the task perfectly.I was searching for a toolbox when I stumbled across this. This was a better option. I’m currently using it for my pocket knife collection. It doesn’t take up too much space. Very portable and looks cool. I might buy another one.Really thin metal.Really small! My fault for not checking first!Why did they come out with look alikes!To much money for the size!Not worth it to me in the Transportation Industry!Send me some full size ones not used by Hobits!An absolutely solidly made parts storage box. The plastic insert has rounded bottom edges which allow you to easily pick out the last nut/washer/whatever. Also the plastic used isn't cheap or thin in anyway, very well done and well fitted. The hinge of the metal outer box is solidly done as is the latch... this should last a lifetime.One other thing of note, I picked mine up off of warehouse deals for about 15% less. It was described as having small imperfections visible on less than 5% of the product. I couldn't find a single thing wrong anywhere after close examination.. your milage may vary of course.It wasn't quite the level of quality I was expecting. It was dented upon arrival and the dividers were plastic.Muy buen producto! I was expecting solid steel construction, however it is very very thin metal with a fragile front clasp and hinge. Not worth the price and certainly not what I was expecting. The construction is rather poor. My unit also had slight rusting on it near the hinge. The tray separating the spaces is plastic, not terrible but would have been nice to see metal. Overall, not worth the money and not the construction standard I was holding Klein to. I’d rather buy a cheaper Chinese made box with solid construction.I wish that the vendor would put the dimensions on.They are smaller than I expected. though I decided to keep them anyway.This works for me, a bit bigger than expected, but that just means that I can carry more. I would recommend this product to my friends. I am happy with this purchase.Solide
