This is a really good knife. The slide mechanism works as well as any of the same type do, and it's a sturdily-constructed tool. I had this same knife years ago on an old job, and when I left, there were all these blades just lying around in 5-paks. Not wanting to trip over them on the way out the door,(and not wanting them to fall into the hands of children and inexperienced workers) I made sure they went away. Then, of course, in a relatively short time , the knife got mislaid. I made do with a Stanley, until I finally decided to get the "real deal". I recommend it highly - especially if you have a supply of the blades meant to fit it (which are different from the Stanley refills and others; the shape is the same, but the notches don't match up with the slide.)
