This is a great little tool I bought it for you looking at her the car up at the suspension and frame. It's a nice length it seems like it's high quality and there's a little light that you turn on it's which is fabulous however it broke like the first time I used it I was pretty careful with it I didn't mistreat it. You get two in the box so I still have one and it was really helpful so it was totally worth the money to even have being able to use it only once for what I needed it for to check for rust underneath the car.Ok I just received this mirror in the mail from Amazon. I initially started a return because light didn't work. General tools should be more informative about how it works. You don't just place the 2 batteries in and screw it down. If you look close inside the battery compartment it shows one is negative and one is positive. You MUST place one battery in positive side up and one battery positive side down. Experiment with it a few times but trust me one up, one down. Bad instructions from manufacturerIf you're looking at the mirror more than 45 degrees off axis, you're not seeing ANY of the light from these LEDs. They tend to glare back at you or miss the thing you're trying to look at. There is a very weak spot where the mirror connects to the gooseneck, and as others have pointed out it cannot be repaired if it breaks. High force is required to get the gooseneck into the handle, and then the weak point gets all the stress if something pushes against it in your toolbox. Lights are bright but not useful for close work because they are too narrow-beam. The beams merge about a foot out, so that might be fine depending on what you're doing. If you have to look sideways across the narrow dimension of the mirror you might as well turn off the lights. For General Lighted Telescoping Inspection Mirror No. 92560 Rectangular With GooseneckUsed this for just a little bit, am very pleased. Had purchased a different brand years ago that used a swivel locking screw device and thescrew device failed very quickly (see picture). Also, the locking screw device did not work well before it broke. Sat in my tool box for years. The gooseneck device on this mirror is solid, feels like it will last and it also holds it position very well. The LED lights are very bright.About the batteries - 1) A little difficult putting the batteries in. 2) DO NOT USE THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR BATTERY INSTALLATIONPROVIDED ON THE FOLDED PACKAGE INSERT, THEY ARE WRONG (AT LEAST ON MY MODEL)! Rather, look at the battery polaritysign embossed on each battery well on the back of the mirror and then insert each battery with its corresponding polarity facing thatembossed sign. You should end up with one positive facing down and one negative facing down. I almost knocked off a point for this. Finally, its kind of pricey, but when you need a good inspection mirror, this one will do.I really wanted to love this and it works just as promised, but I'm trying to use it to view some hard to see places under a school bus for my pre-trip inspections and the mirror is just too small and faraway for it to work. It looked so promising and logically I thought it would work but it just doesn't. Maybe for car engine work it would do better so if you have a use like that, I'd still recommend giving this a try. It IS well made and a quality tool at an extraordinary price (and believe me, I shopped in 10 stores locally and scoured sources online to find this specific type of tool and the only other tool I found like this...NONE locally, btw... was literally 10x the price! I'm only giving it 4 stars because I think it's use is a little limited. Its a nice mirror with LEDs. We use in the shop to see behind fixtures and set-ups. The instructions were wrong with the picture for the battery orientation. Ignore the instructions and look at the inside of the battery compartment to see the proper way to place them.Very happy with this mirror,it is much better than a couple that I have before (different brand).I recommend this mirrorI Love the little light for the mirror....but I wish the mirror was bigger and the extension to longer.... :)Seems good qualitybrilliant inspection mirrorI purchased the TEKTON 7609 Telescoping Lighted Inspection Mirror before I purchased this item. The TEKTON is alright but the telescoping tubes aren't tight enough to hold the mirror in anything but the downward pointing direction. This unit has about the same adequate build quality but the tubes are tighter and therefore it will stay positioned horizontally if needed. Hoping this saves someone else the same grief.Very useful for AV installers for looking behind electronics in cabinets.Which one is HDMI3 again?Works beautifully! The universal joint between the wand and the telescopic neck allow fairly precise movement of the mirror and the two small LED's provide lots of light. Compared this unit to a similar one at my local national hardware chain and this one is priced far better AND includes the light. Used it recently to check the water flow under a toilet rim in order to see if the small outlet holes were clogged. Couldn't have seen them without this inspection mirror. Would recommend this device. This is a great little mirror. I now know how moms have "eyes on the back of their heads", they use this mirror. Now I'm not saying this mirror will make you a better parent but honestly, it won't make you worse...
