For the last 30 years I've used something similar to this for keeping my combs clean. I lost the tool in the last move and couldn't find another. Then I found this one on Amazon. It's a little bigger and has the extra rake on the end, but it functions exactly like my old one and I couldn't be happier. The principle is simple. You simply insert the end of the comb in between the brushes and then pull the comb back and forth through the rotating brushes. All the dried crud, dander, hairspray and the like will seperate from the comb's teeth and fall away into the sink. When you're done with one half then just swap ends and do it all over again with the other end. Easy, peasy and a flawless design for which there is no substitute. All the other comb cleaners are simply BS compared to this one. The ten bucks you spend might seem a little much, but it's worth every penny, believe me!!!! JDNothing yetThe plastic is very brittle. The black bristles fall off very easily, like within the first use. The prongs didn't withstand the first comb through the brushes I had. Bummer.Loved the way it cleaned my comb. I was also able to clean my brush in seconds.Love the comb part@ it gets almost all the hair out of the brush. The 'fingers' are pretty fragile so cant use on someone's head.cleaning my combs. It worksIt worked on a "barber's" comb, which is why I bought it, but as others have indicated it seems pretty flimsy. I'll have to be careful with it.There are two brushes, one I call the outer brush and the other the inner brush. The first time I used the comb cleaner the outer brush fell out because the axle of the brush was not long enough or the outer part of the plastic holder was simply not sturdy enough to retain it. I took both brushes out and switch them because the inner brush appeared to be longer than the outer brush. After I did this and I put a little more pressure on the outer brush plastic holder, it worked ok. But the reason for the three star rating is because the cleaner did not work as advertised out of the box and without modification with additional pressure to hold the outer brush. Needs some design work! I can make it work but should not have to. Somewhat dissatisfied but it works better than what I was using. Hopefully, future orders can be made to work. Very convenient to clean the hair combsAfter using for about 7 months: I haven’t used the end with the fingers.I have used the end with the rollers dozens of times on my plastic hair combs. This is simply a great tool. It removes all hair, dirt, lint and hair grease in about 30 second and it is effortless to use. I have not had to clean this tool yet, and if I ever feel the need to, I’ll simply put it in the washing machine with a load of clothes.
