I've had this for a over a month. I keep trying to come up with bad things to say about it but I just can't. It's a great iron. It's definitely better than what I was using before - a Conair ceramic that worked well but left crimps in my hair and didn't hold the curl all day. This iron gives my hair a nice smooth curl that lasts. Some of the negative reviews mention that the iron gets too hot. That's not my experience at all. I use it on the hottest setting. It's not hotter than my old Conair. (But my hair is thick and coarse so it can handle the heat. Might be more of issue for thinner hair, I guess.)My only real complaint is that the cord is too long for my small bathroom but that's just me being silly.I guess I could say that I'm a little disappointed because I thought that this iron would be quicker to use than my old one. But it's not. Maybe that was an unrealistic expectation though.****update*** I recently got a couple of inches cut off my hair and now my hair is just below should length. The 1-1/2 is really too big. I think I'm going to have to order the 1-1/4 now.Even before I got my hair cut shorter, I was already thinking I might prefer the smaller barrel as the 1-1/2 inch really doesn't give much curl. It seemed to at first. But after a little while, it started to just act as a straightener and give my have a little wave. It's still a nice look, but not really what I'm going for. It's strange that the effect changed in such a short time though. It's like my hair adjusted to the iron. Maybe that's just what happens when using such high heat every day?Oh well. whatever. I'm going to try the Hot Tools 1-1/4 now.Even though I'm not saving any time, I had to spend more money and the cord gets on my nerves, the end result is worth it because my hair looks better than it ever has!
